The creator of this woven necklace first saw lace as a child and dreamt of learning how to weave it.
Ellen Papikyan unlocked the secrets of creating all kinds of lace pieces while attending Mariam Gharibyan’s embroidery workshop at TUMO Studios. First, she embroidered the symbols of the goddess Anahit, and then made the lace three-
dimensional and transformed it into a necklace.
The necklace is a symbol of fertility, the beginning of life, and femininity.
