Seedpod Crowned Crane

Crowned cranes are stunning large birds, up to 3 feet tall. With those crowns of spiky feathers on their heads, they sure have a regal look about them.  Using the seedpods of the Ulumbu Tree (Sterculia rogersii), Zimbabwean artists have created these charming little birds. Standing on hand twisted wire feet, they are between 3-4" tall and are hand painted in the rich bright colors of each bird's plumage.
